In order to design an eye catching bronze statue, you need to choose the right method and right experienced artist. The high quality bronze needs to be implemented on metals through electrotyping or Galavano plasty method. These sculptures are built up with pure copper and their concoction does not include metal casting.

Through lost-wax casting method, the artist initiates the entire model of bronze sculpture with a non-drying oil-based clay like a Plasticine model for smaller sized sculptures or for sculptures to be made within a longer period and the clay must be protected from drying and this clay must have the qualities to capture a gesture. In this way, a suitable mould is designed from the clay structure, either as a plaster mould or including suitable gel or same type rubber category materials.

At last a plaster master will be developed from this mould for next concentration process. Such kind of plaster preserves the artwork until a patron may be available to funding a bronze casting. While marble statues are most popularly associated with the Classical Age, in the Hellenistic Period — between Alexander the Great’s death in 323 B.C. and the rise of Rome in 31 B.C. — bronze was the premiere sculptural form.

Yet because of the nature of the medium — an alloy comprising copper, tin, aluminum and other metals — most of those works were melted down through the ages to produce helmets, shields, hinges and a host of other objects needed at the time.

“The ones that we don’t have and we haven’t found are gone forever because they were melted down. And that’s the vast majority, thousands and thousands,” said Kenneth Lapatin, co-creator of the exhibit “Power and Pathos,” which originated at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

It’s now at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, showcasing some 50 bronzes once lost in fires, shipwrecks, volcanoes and earthquakes, and includes the statue base of one of the greatest bronze sculptors, Lysippos, the favorite of Alexander the Great.

“He was the Michelangelo of the period. We know from ancient writers that he made 1,500 statues. Not a single one survives, and that stone base is the closest we can get to his work,” Lapatin said.

Tran Hung Dao was born under the name of Tran Quoc Tuan around the year 1229 and past away in the year 1300 as a figure of legendary proportions.General Tran Hung Dao was known for using guerrilla warfare and scorched-earth tactics against his enemies and with an amazing counteroffensive, he was able to liberate the capital of Vietnam which drove the Mongols back to China.  With his actions, he became the first great Vietnamese military strategists that is still recognized among current Vietnam communities and people still to this day.

This is the first of a limited edition creation for our client and the detail was captured beautifully so that whether up close or from a distance, you will know it is the great General Tran Hung Dao.  Over the next few years, we will be working with our clients and other communities to place one among other areas around the USA and the world to celebrate an amazing war hero and icon of the world.
